2007 24Nov. Mountain Radio Challenge - www.mrc.cat.net.au

An EMAIL I received from Tony -
Organiser of the annual Australian Mountain Radio Challenge.

The MRC is on again this year, November 24th, Federal Election day. Due to the recent arrival of my twin daughters my efforts this year have been minimal, however we have 11 stations listed so far, and I’m already planning for a big year in 2008.

If you are interested in participating this year, please let me know asap, as its only a few weeks away. The website of www.mrc.cat.net.au has some details in regards to current station locations, calling times & channels, so please keep your eye on this as it will change as the day gets closer.

If you are interested, but unavailable this year, please let me know as I’m keen to start planning for MRC 2008. We have a couple of keen groups in NE NSW and Id like to extend our link from ACT to them. Im also keen to extend west towards South Australia.

Many members are amateur licenced, however I’m not listing any freqs or times at this point. You may wish to discuss this further at groups.yahoo.com.au/mtradiochallenge or contact me directly.

If you know of any other people, or groups, who might be interested in this event please let them or I know so we can discuss the event further. Feel free to pass on my email address. We had about 21 groups involved last year, and Id been keen to get this number again, but to cover greater distance.

If you are no longer interested, or have a different preferred email address please let me know.

I plan to be contacting interested people early next year so we can start to map out the path of the message, the goal being to relay the message from Tasmania to Queensland and back, using ground wave CB signals.

Thanks

Tony 355
