I don't think there are any Galaxy dealers here in Aus. Unless you are going to use AM mostly i would steer clear of Galaxy as they have a reputation of severe drift on ssb. They boom on AM. Your best bet would be Ranger. Both the 2950 and 2970 are available in Sydney but way overpriced. I imported my 2970 direct from the US at just under $600AU including shipping compared with over $1000 from same Sydney dealer. At the moment you will be hard pressed to find a new ssb radio in Aus. Everyone seems to have been suckered into the UHF crap. Only other option is Ebay. Best of luck with your search and hope to hear you on the air.
